I have a Piko, which is made by Ferraris. They also make the KoKo, which is more expenseive but does the FVC and I think is more durable. Both are electronic and have software you can purchase to go wtih it. A couple other companies that make them, but I can't remember the names off hand. I found mine online for about 30 bucks. Several doctors I know recommend the Piko. You might ask your Pulmo about which one he would recommend.

BrittneyBrittneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06304750174259826560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25073771.post-17410181986745552942007-03-07T08:22:00.000-08:002007-03-07T08:22:00.000-08:00Hi Brittney,Thanks for posting your comment! Is it something I can just ask my doctor for, or is it something expensive I'd buy?? Just curious. I agree, I think FEV1 is an even more precise indicator, but at home all I have is the peak flow....Thanks!Lauriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10392908564921877962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25073771.post-12703126001008451072007-03-06T03:29:00.000-08:002007-03-06T03:29:00.000-08:00Peak flow can be a handy dandy way of keeping trac...Peak flow can be a handy dandy way of keeping track of things. I've found out recently that my FEV1 (I have piko-1 that measure both pefr and fev) is a better indicator of who my day is going to go. I think its a bit more senesitive to change.

Spreadsheets are a great way to keep track of things. I've been tracking mine for a year and a half that way and have learned to recognize patterns. I like to make a graph and see the trends. The numbers don't mean much to me by themselves, but seeing the line of the chart start a downward trend helps me catch things quicker.

BrittneyBrittneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06304750174259826560noreply@blogger.com
