I have a 3 and 6 year old and for the last five Years have had the great fortune of working for a small company where I could work from home and still see my kids at night but due to downsizing I am back on the market and really struggling with my next steps. my rheumatoid arthritis has been on a roller coaster these last few months and really doing some sole searching on working which I need to and love to do and what my health ad family can handle.... So any words of wisdom would be great.Yiyellihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00855729091558975077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25073771.post-65073736845321617712011-12-25T21:47:36.978-08:002011-12-25T21:47:36.978-08:00Motherhood and sacrifice is almost the same word t...Motherhood and sacrifice is almost the same word to me.Pattyhttp://lifestylemall.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25073771.post-3475442552677052612011-04-27T18:53:48.334-07:002011-04-27T18:53:48.334-07:00Thanks, P.O.P. Someone I know mentioned a friend who said she couldn't write until her baby turned two--well, that isn't always an option. If I can just get the adrenals to perk back up, we'll be in good shape! :)

Britta, this whole balance thing has been a challenge for as long as I can remember--I totally hear you. Good luck getting it all done!

Peter, thanks so much for the comment and the link. I don't have answers, but I put my thoughts into my blog post today and linked to your great post. ~ PeterHealingWellhttp://blog.healingwell.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25073771.post-68339661515590313222011-04-26T14:16:50.584-07:002011-04-26T14:16:50.584-07:00I feel as if I am still trying to find that balanc...I feel as if I am still trying to find that balance in my life. Although I don't have a child, I have some regrets about taking an on-campus job WHILE taking 18 credits. One month left of the semester, and I am still struggling to find that balance.brittahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17364260264700856613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25073771.post-26947036445587576592011-04-26T13:53:11.893-07:002011-04-26T13:53:11.893-07:00I think chronic illness means we do more sometimes...I think chronic illness means we do more sometimes because we are used to feeling like crap and pressing on anyways. Your schedule would destroy a healthy person.

In my opinion, the first year is the most labor intensive and it gradually gets less difficult to balance everything as they get older.

Also, McDonald's playland? Very helpful (in warm months when cold and flu germs aren't lingering around).

At 3 there are usually classes where parents aren't invited to participate so you can bring the laptop and work. Until then it's juggle juggle juggle.

Hope you feel better soon! I can so identify with the adrenal moments. Ugh.

MMedical Mojavehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14445140579589340514noreply@blogger.com
